Burham Church of England Primary School has a strong Christian commitment. We believe through Christian teaching and example children will benefit and be enriched. We aim to educate children with a firm foundation of Christian knowledge and experience in order to encourage their spiritual development. This means respecting the beliefs and values of all people whether they have a religious background or not. Church services are held on appropriate occasions.
The Governors and staff believe that good behaviour is necessary for effective learning & teaching to take place and hence we will seek to create an environment in the school that encourages and reinforces good behaviour. We also believe that society expects good behaviour as an important outcome of the educational process.
This page will guide you to information about the current and historic performance of our school, with information about standards, the progress of pupils and the findings of the school’s most recent OFSTED inspection.
The Pupil Premium is an allocation of funding provided to schools to support children who may be vulnerable to under achievement. The amount received is dependent on the number of children who receive free school meals – this does not include those entitled to Universal Free School Meals (Infants) unless they also meet the criteria for pupil premium. The Pupil Premium also provides funding for children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months and the children of service personnel.
The DfE has given us the freedom to use Pupil Premium as we see fit, based upon our knowledge of our pupil needs. However, we are accountable for the use of this additional funding.
It is currently our policy to pay for clubs and school visits plus school-led enrichment activities; this does not include private music lessons held at the school. From September 2017 parents of pupil premium children will be asked for a proportionate payment towards school visits.
